About ME

If Victoria de Angelis from Måneskin joined Fall Out Boy and ran exclusively on iced coffee, you’d get Kaitlyn Gerdau! Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Kaitlyn is a dynamic female bassist with a background from Belmont University, where she honed her craft. She’s passionate about the music industry and constantly looking to collaborate with others. While rock is her main style, Kaitlyn is versatile and skilled across a variety of genres and sub-genres.

These days, she’s busy gigging around Nashville, playing with other artists, and also traveling for work. She recently wrapped up a three-month headlining tour with artist Odie Leigh, performing 44 shows in that period. Kaitlyn has also played at major festivals like Shaky Knees, Kilby Court Block Party, Calgary Folk Festival, Hinterland, and Outside Lands. As a studio musician, she’s recorded at renowned studios such as Oceanway, Sound Emporium, and Columbia Studio A, collaborating with other artists on their original projects.

In addition to performing, Kaitlyn has a keen interest in the marketing side of music. In the summer of 2023, she interned for the songwriting app We Should Write Sometime as their social media intern.

With a strong drive to inspire other female musicians and instrumentalists, Kaitlyn’s biggest influences come from iconic 2000s rock bands like Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Evanescence. She’s always exploring new musical territories and hopes her work resonates with others.
